TAGGR Terms of Service

Welcome to TAGGR. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of TAGGR, including TAGGR.org, TAGGR public URL rooms, comments, drawings, media attachments, reports, moderation features, bookmarklets, browser tools, and any related services we provide.
By accessing or using TAGGR, you agree to these Terms. Do not use TAGGR if you do not agree.
Core rule: Taggr allows anonymous discussion, not illegal content, targeted harassment, or coordinated abuse. Content that violates these rules will be removed, and abusive activity may be restricted without notice.
1. What TAGGR Is
TAGGR creates public discussion spaces attached to URLs. A TAGGR room may include comments, drawings, GIFs, media, links, reactions, reports, votes, labels, moderation status, and other public context related to a webpage or URL.
TAGGR does not edit, alter, host, control, or speak for the original webpage. A TAGGR room is an independent public conversation layer connected to a URL.
TAGGR may show previews, metadata, page titles, thumbnails, screenshots, or other contextual information so users can understand what a room is about. Those materials may come from the URL, public metadata, third-party services, or user submissions.
2. Public Nature of the Service
TAGGR is designed for public discussion. When you submit a URL, comment, drawing, GIF, media file, link, report, reaction, vote, or other content, you understand that it may be visible to other users and may be indexed, shared, copied, screenshotted, archived, discussed, or preserved.
Do not post anything you want to keep private.
Public content may include submitted URLs, page metadata, comments, drawings, GIF attachments, timestamps, public labels, public moderation status, and other visible activity connected to a TAGGR room.
3. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for what you submit and how you use TAGGR.
You agree that you will not submit, link to, upload, draw, describe, promote, or encourage content that is illegal, abusive, exploitative, deceptive, invasive, malicious, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms.
You are also responsible for making sure you have any rights, permissions, or legal basis needed to submit the content you post.
4. Allowed Speech and Disagreement
TAGGR is built for public context, criticism, correction, debate, warnings, praise, questions, and dissent. Strong opinions are allowed. Criticism of public claims, public figures, companies, products, websites, articles, institutions, and ideas is allowed.
Disagreement is not a violation by itself. Offensive, unpopular, negative, or critical speech may remain visible unless it violates these Terms or applicable law.
5. Prohibited Content and Conduct
You may not use TAGGR to submit, promote, assist, or distribute any of the following:
Illegal or Harmful Content
Illegal content, illegal services, instructions for serious wrongdoing, criminal threats, exploitation, or abuse.
Child Safety Violations
Child sexual abuse material, sexualized minors, grooming, predatory behavior, or any content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes children. This content is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities.
Threats and Violence
True threats, credible threats, incitement to violence, praise or encouragement of real-world violence, targeted intimidation, or instructions to harm a person or group.
Doxxing and Privacy Abuse
Posting private personal information without consent, including home addresses, private phone numbers, private emails, financial information, government IDs, medical records, private images, login credentials, or information intended to enable harassment, stalking, swatting, identity theft, or real-world harm.
Harassment and Targeted Abuse
Sustained targeted harassment, abusive brigading, dehumanizing attacks, sexual harassment, or attempts to drive a person off the service through intimidation or abuse.
Impersonation and Deception
Impersonating another person, company, website, moderator, public official, journalist, brand, or organization in a misleading way. Parody and commentary may be allowed when it is clear and not deceptive.
Spam and Manipulation
Spam, scams, fake engagement, artificial voting, bot activity, coordinated manipulation, repeated low-quality posting, deceptive redirects, phishing, unsolicited promotions, or attempts to flood or disrupt rooms.
Malware and Security Abuse
Malware, viruses, credential theft, malicious scripts, exploit payloads, phishing pages, command-and-control links, or attempts to compromise TAGGR, users, websites, devices, or accounts.
Sexual and NSFW Content
Adult or NSFW URLs and discussion may be allowed when properly labeled and handled. However, illegal sexual content, non-consensual sexual content, sexualized minors, sexual exploitation, and sexual harassment are prohibited.
Intellectual Property Abuse
Posting content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, or other rights of others, unless you have permission or a valid legal basis such as fair use, commentary, criticism, parody, or another applicable exception.
Platform Abuse
Scraping, reverse engineering, automated posting, evading bans, bypassing rate limits, interfering with moderation tools, attacking infrastructure, or using TAGGR in a way that harms the service or other users.
6. URL Rooms
A TAGGR room may be created for a public URL. Submitting a URL does not mean TAGGR endorses the URL, the original page, the room, or the comments in that room.
A room may remain available even if the original page changes, disappears, is corrected, or becomes unavailable. TAGGR may remove, hide, restrict, merge, label, blur, or block rooms at our discretion.
You may not use TAGGR to falsely imply that the owner of an original webpage created, approved, sponsors, or endorses a TAGGR room unless that is true.
7. User Content License
You keep ownership of content you submit to TAGGR, subject to any rights you grant us here.
By submitting content to TAGGR, you grant TAGGR a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, publish, distribute, modify for formatting or moderation purposes, create previews of, analyze, and otherwise use your content to operate, improve, moderate, promote, and provide TAGGR.
This license includes the right to display your content in TAGGR rooms, feeds, search results, moderation queues, reports, summaries, previews, notifications, and related features.
You represent that you have the rights needed to grant this license.
8. Moderation
TAGGR may moderate content and activity to protect users, preserve public context, reduce abuse, comply with law, and operate the service.
We may label, blur, hide, remove, restrict, downrank, preserve, review, or block content, rooms, URLs, domains, accounts, devices, IP addresses, user agents, or other activity.
We may take action with or without notice. We are not required to explain every moderation decision.
Moderation actions may include, but are not limited to:
- labeling adult or sensitive material;
- blurring thumbnails or previews;
- hiding or removing comments, drawings, media, or rooms;
- blocking URLs, domains, users, devices, or IP addresses;
- preserving content for abuse review, legal review, safety review, or evidence;
- limiting posting, voting, reporting, or room creation;
- escalating serious violations to appropriate authorities.
We may also decline to remove content that is critical, negative, controversial, or disputed if we believe it does not violate these Terms.
9. Reports and Flags
Users may flag URLs, comments, media, drawings, rooms, or other activity for review.
Submitting a report does not guarantee removal. Abuse of reporting tools, including false reports, mass reporting, harassment through reports, or attempts to silence lawful criticism, may result in restrictions.
10. Accounts and Anonymous Use
TAGGR may allow account-based posting, anonymous posting, pseudonymous posting, or some combination of these.
Even when public activity appears anonymous or pseudonymous, TAGGR may collect and use backend moderation data to prevent abuse, investigate violations, operate the service, and comply with law.
You may not evade bans, blocks, suspensions, rate limits, or moderation restrictions by creating new accounts, changing devices, using proxies, rotating IP addresses, or using other evasion methods.
11. Privacy
Your use of TAGGR is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Public content may be visible to others. Backend moderation records are used for abuse prevention, security, investigation, service operation, and legal compliance.
Do not submit private or sensitive information unless you understand that it may become public.
12. Third-Party Websites and Content
TAGGR rooms may link to, reference, preview, or discuss third-party websites, pages, products, services, articles, videos, posts, and other materials.
TAGGR does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, policies, security, availability, accuracy, or practices.
A link, preview, room, comment, or discussion on TAGGR does not mean TAGGR endorses the original page or any user's statement about it.
13. Intellectual Property Complaints
TAGGR respects intellectual property rights.
If you believe content on TAGGR infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at hello@taggr.org with enough information for us to review the issue, including:
- your name and contact information;
- identification of the content you believe is infringing;
- the TAGGR room URL or location of the content;
- the original work or rights you claim are being infringed;
- a statement that you believe the use is unauthorized;
- any other information required by applicable law.
TAGGR may remove or restrict allegedly infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
14. No Professional Advice
Content on TAGGR may include opinions, commentary, warnings, claims, criticism, speculation, or user-submitted information. TAGGR does not verify all content and does not provide legal, medical, financial, safety, professional, or other expert advice.
Do not rely on TAGGR content as your only source of information. Verify important claims independently.
15. Availability and Changes to the Service
TAGGR may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Features may be added, removed, limited, redesigned, or made unavailable.
We may also impose limits on posting, room creation, media uploads, voting, reporting, search, access, or other activity.
We do not guarantee that TAGGR will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that content will always be preserved.
16. Removal Requests
You may contact TAGGR about content you believe violates these Terms, violates the law, infringes rights, or creates serious safety concerns.
We review removal requests at our discretion. We may ask for additional information. We may remove, restrict, label, preserve, or decline to act on content depending on the situation.
Because TAGGR is designed for public commentary, criticism, correction, and debate, we may decline requests that are primarily aimed at removing lawful criticism or public-interest discussion.
17. Termination and Restrictions
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to TAGGR at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for other users, abused the service, violated law, or attempted to evade moderation.
You may stop using TAGGR at any time.
Some content, records, logs, or moderation information may be retained after termination where needed for safety, legal compliance, abuse prevention, service operation, or legitimate business purposes.
18. Disclaimers
TAGGR is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TAGGR disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and reliability.
We do not guarantee that:
- user content is accurate, lawful, or reliable;
- rooms will remain available;
- moderation will catch every violation;
- harmful content will never appear;
- the service will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- previews, metadata, thumbnails, or URL information will be accurate or current.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TAGGR and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, business interruption, reputational harm, or user-submitted content.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, TAGGR's total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid TAGGR in the twelve months before the claim, or
- $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
20. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TAGGR and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to:
- your use of TAGGR;
- your submitted content;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of law;
- your violation of another person's rights;
- your misuse of TAGGR rooms, reports, votes, media, or moderation features.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on TAGGR with a new effective date.
Your continued use of TAGGR after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [insert state/country], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute related to these Terms or TAGGR will be handled in the courts located in [insert venue], unless applicable law requires otherwise.
